The incident was reported to authorities at around 2.52am today after a security guard at Heng Kin House of Tin Heng Estate found a cat, already on her last breath, outside the residential block.
Ten to twenty minutes later, the security guard heard a loud bang and found that another cat had fallen from a height, hitting the roof of a nearby walkway.
Police officers and SPCA officials later responded to the scene for investigation.
After examination, it was confirmed that the first cat that fell from the building had suffered fatal injuries. The second cat that fell sustained injuries to its mouth, nose, and legs. The injured cat was taken to the vet for treatment.
Following an investigation, a 34-year-old local woman in the building was arrested on suspicion of "cruelty to animals" and has been detained for further investigation.
It was reported that both involved pet cats were female, adults, with the deceased cat being a Siamese breed and the injured cat being a Ragdoll breed.
