Victoria Harbour has welcomed a striking 7.5-meter-high steel lobster sculpture for public viewing starting Wednesday, adding bold colors to Hong Kong’s citywide art celebrations.
Located at the promenade of the city landmark K11 MUSEA, the colorful sculpture, The Lobster Painter, is displayed alongside the artist’s signature lobster sculptures inside the venue.
Lobster Flower, Lobster Fountain, Lobster Totem, and Daydreamer will be situated at Muse Edition, while a fifth sculpture, Lobster Soup Can, can be found at the entrance next to the concierge.
An exclusive kiosk pop-up has also opened on the promenade at K11 MUSEA and Avenue of Stars, offering limited-edition, asset-backed collectible versions of the sculpture.
These 33-centimeter collectible figures are a collaboration between Colbert and Co-Museum, enabling art enthusiasts to become co-collectors of the artwork through blockchain technology.
Born in Scotland and living and working in London, Colbert is often referred to as the “godson of Andy Warhol”, for his cartoon lobster persona and masterful hyper-pop history paintings.
