A family is desperately trying to find their pet parrot after firefighters failed to rescue him from a tree in North Point on Wednesday, four days after the bird went missing.

The eight-month-old parrot, named Collar, escaped from her home on Saturday.
She was spotted on a tree near Fortress Garden in North Point at around 8am this morning, with firefighters called to the scene to help with the rescue.
The family’s domestic helper was also called to the scene, bringing along Collar’s bird stand in a bid to draw her attention.
Firefighters failed to rescue the bird, with the bird eventually flying off at around 9.45am.
