In celebration of AsiaWorld-Expo's 20th anniversary, an investment exceeding HK$1 billion has been invested in a comprehensive renovation, including integrating innovative technologies designed to enhance the visitor experience and improve resource efficiency in support of sustainable development.
The upgraded facilities significantly increased the venue's energy efficiency, AME is set to welcome guests with the new systems expected to save more energy compared to 2018, highlighting AWE's dedication to environmental protection and technological advancement.
In its quest for sustainability, AWE has introduced various innovative technological features, ranging from water-cooled chillers, solar panels and films, and LED lighting systems to facial recognition registration systems for staff, which will be extended to contractors in the future to reduce paper usage and increase efficiency.
The AWE also developed a convertible washroom, where 75 percent of the washrooms in the venue can be switched for use by different genders, accommodating varied needs and lowering waiting times.
To enhance the venue's reception capacity and operational efficiency, AWE will implement the "Smart Vehicular Management System" to monitor and manage traffic flow orderly, which is expected to reduce handling times by 30 percent compared to before.
Meanwhile, organizers and exhibitors will benefit from an "Event Service Centre" ordering hub, enabling them to manage thousands of orders efficiently and uniformly in a short amount of time, boosting overall efficiency and encouraging environmental sustainability.
Apart from the highly anticipated "ComplexCon Hong Kong 2025", AWE is set to host an exciting array of events in March, such as the Blackpink Member Jisoo's first fan meeting and the K-pop girl group GFRIEND's 10th-anniversary concert.
AWE also highlighted the "Connect Marketplace Hong Kong", a top Asia Pacific event for the meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) industry, expected to draw over 600 buyers and 8,000 visitors from various sectors for the very first time.
Furthermore, it is reported that the "JUMPSTARTER 2025 Grand Finale" will be held at AWE, offering entrepreneurs possibilities for idea exchange, funding, investment, and networking.
Lastly, "Innovating Hong Kong - Global Talent Carnival" will transform the AWE into a bustling career fair, featuring recruitment, forums, and sales from 400 local and international companies.
