The mainland's blockbuster movie, Nezha 2, officially premiered in Hong Kong and Macau on Saturday, captivating audiences with more than 800 screenings on its debut day.

At a cinema in Kwun Tong today, it was evident that the excitement had hardly waned; from 9 am to 10.15 pm, there were 22 screenings, with over 90 percent of the tickets sold out for most of the shows.
Directed by Yang Yu, who is also known by his pseudonym Jiaozi, Nezha 2 retains the comedic essence of its successful predecessor, Nezha (2019), which amassed more than 5 million yuan at the box office.
The sequel has remarkably garnered a global box office total of over 13 billion yuan, securing the 8th position in the global box office rankings.
State broadcaster CCTV reported that the number of screenings across Hong Kong on the first day of public release surged from the initially planned 500 to over 800.
