HK driver slammed for deer hit-and-run crash in Japan

A car rental company in Japan has called out a Hongkonger for reckless behavior after the driver hit a deer and fled the scene.

In a recent post on Facebook by "NRT Rent-A-Car," it was reported that a driver from Hong Kong hit a deer but chose to drive off. The driver also cited a busy schedule and refused a car check-up after the incident.

The car rental company alerted the police, and the driver was ordered to pay 500,000 Japanese yen in compensation. 

The company also shared a case involving a self-driving trip in which a driver from Hong Kong encountered six engine stalls due to his lack of familiarity with operating a manual transmission vehicle.

Consequently, that has caused the engine to fail during the trip, incurring a repair cost of 500,000 Japanese yen.

The company added that it will present the cases to the "All Japan Rent-a-Car Association" next month to raise concerns in the industry.
