Deputy Justice Chief spreads festive wishes to residents of fire-torn house

Deputy Secretary for Justice Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan visited Shui Chuen O Estate, the largest public housing estate in Sha Tin today to spread festive wishes and distribute blessing bags.

Joined by Sha Tin District Officer Frederick Yu Wai-shing, Sha Tin South District Councilor Ku Wai-ping and Care Teams members, Cheung also exchanged views with the local residents.

According to his Facebook post, a family of three was relocated to Shui Chuen O Estate with the assistance and support of the Care Teams after a fire broke out in their original residence at the end of last year.

One of the family members surnamed Choi appreciated prompt assistance rendered by the Care Teams, which enabled them to settle down in the new home before the Lunar New Year.

Another tenant, Hing, among the first batch of tenants moving into the estate, said she witnessed the changes in the estate, and praised the improved facilities in the estate.
