Private car runs red light, hits elderly woman in Mong Kok

A 77-year-old woman suffered injuries to her face and abrasions on her limbs after a private car struck her when running a red light.

The accident happened at 11.30 am at the intersection of Tung Choi Street and Mong Kok Road on Tuesday. A white private car with mainland license plates suddenly ran the red light and struck the woman, causing her to fall to the ground.

The 45-year-old female driver, surnamed Ng, stopped after the accident and called the police.

The injured woman, surnamed Chui, remained conscious and was subsequently sent to hospital.
