A woman was pronounced dead after committing suicide at Plaza Hollywood on Sunday afternoon.
At 5.30 pm yesterday (Jan 19), a 57-year-old woman surnamed Chan was discovered to have fainted in a disabled toilet stall on the third floor of Plaza Hollywood, with a blade nearby and slash wounds.
The police were called to the scene, and paramedics arrived to find that Chan had already fallen unconscious.
She was rushed to United Christian Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Upon investigating the scene, the police found two vegetable knives and no signs of a struggle, leading them to believe that the deceased used the knives to commit suicide.
It is understood that Chan had a history of mental illness and was struggling with life issues.
