THE SOUTHSIDE strives to promote arts and culture and strengthen connections in the local community to bring new vibrancy to Island South. The New Year heart-shaped art installation, another crossover initiative with students from the SWCS Chan Pak Sha School and Canadian International School of Hong Kong, is made with over 200 hand-painted recycled aluminium cans sourced from the Ap Lei Chau Recycling Store. This creative and environmentally sustainable effort is a result of the combined creativity and upcycling concept of students in the Southern District. The installation has given recycled materials a second life to create a heart-shaped installation and bears our wishes for a new year full of good luck!

Over at the romantic garden, a 4-metre-high peach blossom tree is surrounded by cushions shaped like cute new year confections to form a giant candy box to symbolize great happiness!

To add to the sweet ambience of spring, the mall will also be holding several activities to welcome the new year and bring good luck. Don’t miss limited-time Chinese Orchestra Performance, Lion Dance of Prosperity for the Golden Snake, “Meet the God of Wealth”, “Auspicious Calligraphy Booth” and “Panda Meet and Greet”!
