A group of Hong Kong residents, who suspect their relatives are being held captive in crime hubs in Myanmar delivered letters to the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong on Wednesday, seeking assistance from the Thai government to help secure their release.

They also hoped that the SAR government would relay their concerns to the central government, and that Chinese authorities could leverage their diplomatic influence to urge the Thai government to aid in the rescue efforts.
Former district councilor Andy Yu Tak-po, who is assisting the families, said he had received six requests for assistance from Hong Kong residents.
These individuals were illegally detained in Myanmar crime hubs after traveling to Thailand and have been missing for 2 to 6 months, said Yu.
He said their families had previously sought assistance from the Immigration Department and filed reports with the police, but there have been no further updates.
