Kowloon City District Councilor urges FEHD to improve security after files go missing

The Kowloon City District Councilor Wong Chi said on a radio program on Friday that he is urging the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) to improve security and measures to prevent similar situations from occurring again.

This came after two files were suspected to have been stolen at the Kowloon City District Environmental Hygiene Office of the FEHD, involving the information of 100 complainants.

Wong said that no request for assistance has been received from residents yet, and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department is contacting the affected people to explain and apologize. 

He hopes that the department can improve the security system or work procedures to avoid similar incidents from happening again. 

Wong said on a radio program today that there are many different communities in Kowloon City, many of which are old areas.

Residents are more concerned about the waste disposal problems of restaurants, vegetable stalls, and meat stalls, especially the way in which food waste is disposed of by shops. 

If there are more opinions, a complaint may be made to the FEHD.
