The MTR announced that train services from Mong Kok East to Tai Wai are temporarily suspended due to “a person on the track” at Kowloon Tong Station on Monday.

The rail giant stated that a person had entered the East Rail Line Kowloon Tong Station track area, leading to the suspension of the services.
It was learned that the body, belong to a 40-year-old man surnamed Yeung, was removed from the track after around an hour while the cause of death has yet to be determined pending an autopsy.
Trains from Mong Kok East to Tai Wai were halted entirely due to the incident before resuming the services gradually at 2.10 pm.
Due to the incident, trains operated at 8-minute intervals between Admiralty and Mong Kok East, trains from Tai Wai and Lo Wu operated on 10-minute intervals, and trains from Tai Po Market and Lok Ma Chau operated on 20-minute intervals.
Free shuttle bus services have been arranged for the passengers, MTR added. Passengers were also urged to consider taking other transport or switching to other lines.
