The Immigration Department said on Sunday that things were running smoothly at its new marriage hall, which was located at its Tseung Kwan O headquarters and opened on June 26.
The department said that as of yesterday, 228 couples had made their appointments to tie the knot at the marriage hall, which had already accommodated 28 wedding ceremonies.
The marriage hall is part of the department’s new Immigration Headquarters, which officially opened three weeks ago.
The hall can accommodate up to 80 people and features a wall that emits a starlight effect in different colors when holding wedding ceremonies.
A heart-shaped garden has also been set up outside the hall for new couples to take photos.
The headquarters, comprised of two 18-story towers with a total floor space of over 5,7400 square meters, will offer services such as travel visa application, Hong Kong passport application, identity card application, and services for foreign domestic helpers and migrants.
