Up to 554,000 Hongkongers have left the city over the July 1 long weekend, outnumbering overseas and mainland Chinese arrivals.

According to the Immigration Department, up to 554,000 Hong Kong residents departed the city on Saturday - the first day of the three-day long weekend that coincides with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day holiday.
The figure is the second highest ever recorded since Covid.
The department also said around 137,000 visitors arrived in Hong Kong yesterday.
