The Education Bureau (EDB) stated on Tuesday that they have followed up on the scuffle at Tang Shiu Kin Victoria Government Secondary School, and have already set up a response team and contacted parents.
A video was posted online today showing two students fighting in the classroom, with them swinging directly at each other's faces. Others cheered them on, and after around 30 seconds, someone stepped in to break up the fight.
It is understood that the pair were Form Four students who have had several disagreements since March, and often fought each other in the classroom.
The EDB responded to inquiries by saying the school has already set up a response team to handle the incident and follow up with the parents. The students will also be provided with the necessary support and counseling.
The spokesman also pointed out that the bureau has provided clear guidelines to the school, along with a detailed code of conduct for the students.
They also stressed that when schools are handling students' behavioral problems, it is crucial to first educate, counsel and protect the students.
The schools also need to have professional workers to provide the students with the necessary support and mediation.
