Chow Sau-leuk, principal of CMA Secondary School in Shek Kip Mei, said three invigilators couldn’t log into the app this morning and had to take students’ attendance manually.
Chow said the school has reported to the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority and added the school ran relevant testing beforehand. No similar issues occurred during the exams for other subjects over the past two days.
It remains unclear if the matter involves any technical issues and Chow said invigilators will reverse more time for logging into the system in future exams.
Another invigilator from a Kowloon school also said the system malfunctioned when he attempted to log in this morning. He immediately contacted the HKEEA via instant messaging and didn’t receive any reply.
The web version of the system remained effective and the school later manually took the attendance and amended the online records.
Apart from the new i-Invigilation system, students are also required to sign in via the Check-in Smart system.
Students were generally not affected this morning since they all had to switch off their mobiles after signing in on the app, the teachers said.
