For the third consecutive year, HKJC was the official community partner of the Hong Kong Sevens.
The Club chairman, Michael Lee, also presented the Women’s Bowl to Great Britain on Sunday.
During the three-day series, young players from local rugby clubs showcased their skills in the Jockey Club Rugby Mini Showcase.
Meanwhile, through the Jockey Club Sevens School Tour and the Jockey Club Sevens Community Experience, students and underprivileged groups, including senior citizens and people with disabilities, experienced the excitement of world-class rugby.
Members of the Club’s CARE@hkjc volunteer team also lent a hand, accompanying the visually impaired and students to enjoy the competition as well as providing face painting services.
In 2015, HKJC partnered with the government to reconstruct the turf pitch of the Hong Kong Stadium, facilitating its hosting of international sporting events. To date, some 30,000 people have enjoyed the fun of sports, including rugby, through a series of Jockey Club's community programs, culminating in a series of events during the Hong Kong Sevens itself.
