Hong Kong tennis player Coleman Wong Chak-lam’s historic run at the Miami Open suffered an early blow when the teenager was swept out of the opening round by Serbian Laslo Djere.

Wong took on Djere in the main draw on Thursday after becoming Hong Kong’s first player to reach that stage of the ATP Masters 1000 event.
The 19-year-old was a wild card into qualifying and won back-to-back three setters earning his ATP Masters 1000 debut. He defeated India’s Sumit Nagal 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 in the final round of qualifying.
The Serbian, ranked 35 in the world, completed a 7-5 6-4 win over Wong after nearly two hours and 30 minutes.
