The green minibus, with no passengers onboard, was driving along the Tam Mei section of Castle Peak Road at around 12.27 pm when it crashed into another minibus near Au Tau. Three passengers on the struck minibus sustained injuries.
However, the driver causing the accident, surnamed Chong, drove away and later collided with a KMB bus and a sedan on the Yuen Long section of Castle Peak Road and On Ning Road, respectively.
Police officers later located the concerned minibus at a garage in Shung Ching San Tsuen. They arrested the 64-year-old Chong on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and failing to report after an accident.
The preliminary investigation revealed Chong has not consumed any alcohol, and officers are currently checking his history of drug usage and mental condition.
