The 57-year-old man who fell into a coma and was declared dead in hospital following a cocaine bust in Yuen Long was revealed to be Hong Kong's renowned race car driver, Anson Wong, according to sources.

The incident occurred on January 31 (Wed), where police arrested three men as well as a 75-year-old female mastermind in Fanling, Yuen Long, and Mong Kok, respectively, on suspicion of "conspiracy to traffic drugs”.
The 57-year-old male suspect in Ko Po Tsuen, Yuen Long, suddenly fell into a coma while being subdued and was sent to hospital.
He died after being hospitalized for one day. The cause of death is yet to be investigated.
However, sources later revealed that the deceased man was race car driver Anson Wong, who has been active in the racing world for more than 20 years and has won many races in Macau.
His sudden death caused a lot of discussion in the racing community.
57-year-old Wong lived in Yueng Long, was engaged in car sales, and loved racing, having participated in the Macau Grand Prix at least 24 times and winning all races apart from Formula 3 and motorcycle races.
He was also active in CTCC, TCR China, and other circuits.
Wong has won numerous awards on the racing circuit. In 2019, he won the HKAA 100th Anniversary Memorial Trophy –Touring Car (Normally Aspirated) class.
In 2021, Wong represented the Son Veng Racing Team and drove a BMW M4 GT4 racing car for the first time. He was promoted and won the runner-up spot in the GT4 category.
