A teenage girl was slapped at least 18 times by a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy in another bullying incident that was captured on video and is circulating on social media.
The two alleged attackers were arrested by police last Saturday in Sheung Shui.
One of the videos shows the 13-year-old girl being slapped repeatedly by a male attacker, even after she falls to ground.
Another video shows the female attacker slapping the girl seven times, with the victim not fighting back or defending herself.
The videos were shot at Cheung Lung Wai Estate, a public housing estate in Sheung Shui, on June 29. The victim went to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in Tai Po after the incident and called the police at night.
The attackers were arrested on Saturday for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Assistant district commander Johnson Chong Shing-yat said it took them some time to identify the attackers since the victim only knew the nickname of the female attacker and could only provide a limited amount of information.
According to Chong, the victim and the female attacker knew each other and had quarreled before the incident. The attackers also filmed the beating and posted it online.
Chong said they have yet to find a connection between the attackers and triads, but that police will look into whether they know any gang members.
