The T1 signal was called off at 4.20 pm on Monday.
Koinu was centered about 210 kilometers west-southwest of Hong Kong at 4 pm and is forecast to move southwest at about 14 kilometers per hour across the western coast of Guangdong and weaken gradually.
The weather watchdog said squally showers and thunderstorms associated with Koinu are still affecting the coast of Guangdong, while showers will be heavy at times in Hong Kong.
