MTR service disrupted after two light rail trains collide in Yuen Long, three injured

MTR’s light rail service was suspended temporarily on Wednesday morning after two trains collided at Yuen Long Station, with three passengers injured.

The accident happened at around 9.30 am when the two trains crashed into each other at the MTR stop. One of them was carrying passengers with about 50 people on board.

Three female passengers, aged 46 to 76, were brought to hospital after sustaining minor injuries.

Services between Yuen Long and Tong Fong Tsuen were temporarily suspended.

Routes 610, 614, 615 and 761P were diverted with free shuttle bus services provided, the MTR said.
