The team earlier advanced to the knockout stage due to the withdrawal of two teams from the same group. During two encounters against Uzbekistan - the remaining opponent from Group C - the Hong Kong team lost 1-0 and 2-1 respectively and ended up in the second spot for qualification.
The match will kick off at 7.30 pm tonight, broadcasting live on HOYTV 76.
Winger Jahangir Khan is suspended for the match tonight after he was shown a red card in his last outing against Uzbekistan. Meanwhile, Palestine is without their captain, Saleh Mohammed, after a red card offense in their last group match against Japan.
Hong Kong and Palestine are drawn alongside six other teams - including China, Qatar, Iran, Thailand, South Korea, and Kyrgyzstan - to produce a finalist.
The eight other teams in the other bracket to produce a finalist include North Korea, Bahrain, India, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Japan, and Myanmar.
Should Hong Kong defeat Palestine, the team will face either Iran or China in the quarter-finals.
The Asian Games men’s football squads are made up of under-23 players, with three older players allowed, but the age limit has been extended to under-24 for this edition because the games were delayed by a year.
