This came after 11 suspects, including social media influencer Joseph Lam Chok, were arrested for conspiracy to defraud relating to the platform recently.
Cheung arrived at the police headquarters in Wan Chai this morning to assist with the investigation.
It is understood that he had a video interview during the period and was allowed to leave after the inquiry.
Cheung said the police invited him to assist in the investigation and thanked everyone for their concerns. He added that he would work with the legal team to decide whether to release a statement on the incident.
The popular actor earlier announced via a public relations firm that he just realized his images were being used by JPEX recently. He added that he had previously been approached to take part in a commercial shoot for the crypto platform, during which JPEX stated that it had been registered overseas and provided the relevant documentation.
It is understood that Cheung participated in a shoot for JPEX in March last year and learned in May that the company was being monitored by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
Cheung's representative then sent a letter to JPEX requesting the platform to stop using Cheung's images for promotions unless it obtained a license, while the team also reserves rights to pursue or take any legal actions in the future.
