Citizens could enjoy most leisure and sports facilities under the Leisure and Cultural Service Department for free today as Sunday marks the Sport For All Day.
The public can book for the free use of various LCSD leisure facilities at Leisure Link booking counters in various districts and via Internet booking. The booking system will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
No prior booking is required for public swimming pool facilities. Public members may line up at the entrance of swimming pools before the start of a session. Free admission is offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
Free sports programs will be held from 2 pm to 6 pm today at designated sports centers across Hong Kong. Health talks, fitness corners, sports activities for parents, children and adolescents, as well as sports demonstrations and fun games for the elderly and persons with disabilities, will be arranged.
The Leisure and Cultural Service Department said the focal activity of Sport For All Day this year is "fitness exercise for wellness." A series of physical fitness demonstrations and play-in sessions will be held for public participation to encourage the public to pursue a healthy body and mind lifestyle through regular physical exercise.
