A hospital spokesperson said at around 9am today, one piece of false ceiling in a storeroom located at the main block fell down.
He said maintenance staff has arranged emergency repairs, and after inspection, it was believed that the incident was caused by water seepage at a drainage pipe.
The incident did not involve the structural safety of the building…No patients or staff were injured in the incident, and patient service was not affected,” he added.
The spokesperson also noted that the hospital has reported the incident to the Hospital Authority Head Office via the Advance Incident Reporting System.
The hospital witnessed a ceiling hoist track used to carry patients broken in a ward on the first day of this month, and a cement board in a male restroom fell last May.
