Four trucks torched in parking lot fire near Kwai Chung Container Terminal

Fire officials are investigating a fire that happened at around 6am Tuesday morning, which saw at least 4 trucks at an outdoor car park near the Kwai Chung Container Terminal catch fire.  

No casualties were reported following the fire, while firefighters doused the flames by about 8am.  

Two breathing-apparatus teams and two water jets were mobilized by the Fire Services Department to fight the blaze.  

It is understood that a few gas tanks stored on the trucks exploded during the fire, with nearby residents reporting hearing loud bangs.  

Officials said they are still investigating the cause of the fire.
