HK ping-pong duo Doo Hoi-kem, Zhu Chengzhu claims gold in Slovenia

Hong Kong's Doo Hoi-kem and Zhu Chengzhu on Sunday claimed gold in the women's doubles at the World Table Tennis tournament in Slovenia.

Doo - Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist reached the final with her partner Zhu after a 3-2 win over Slovak and Czech partnership Barbora Balazova and Hana Matelova.

They were up against India’s Prapti Sen and Ayhika Mukherjee in the gold medal match.

The pair emerged as champions after winning in straight sets, 11-2 11-7, 11-8, also avenging for their teammates Lee Ho-ching and Minnie Soo Wai-yam who settled for bronze after they were defeated by the India pair in the semifinal.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Wong Chun-ting and Baldwin Chan Ho-wah also picked up a bronze in the men's doubles.
