A Celine handbag worth some HK$30,000 was stuck between MTR train doors - a lesson to tell people not to rush into a carriage last minute.
A video circulating online showed a woman who rushed onto a train getting her handbag caught in between the train doors.
The owner said she thought the door would automatically open if it detected the trapped handbag, but it didn't.
Later as the train approached the next station, the bag was seen flailing wildly, thrashing between the train and platform walls, while the contents of the bag were scattered onto the tracks.
"The bag is doomed. It's worth more than HK$30,000!" the woman sighed.
The woman finally rescued her "weathered" bag after the train stopped.
Although there was no visible damage to the bag, it was empty inside.
Even other passengers said she "really has to find the MTR staff (for the lost items)."
It is understood that the luxury handbag was a Celine medium classic bag in box calfskin, worth HK$34,500.
The video went viral online, drawing sympathy with the "tragedy." A netizen said, "The bag was not the problem but those pieces inside." "How can she get the lost stuff back?" another added.
But some others joked that "the calfskin was so strong," saying it was impressive that "the strap even survived after being pinched like this" and "the bag was worth buying."
A comment read, "Celine should really thank the woman this time for the special advertisement that told its customers why their bags are worth some HK$30,000."
"The woman was lucky that the train opened its doors on this side at the next stop as well," another said - otherwise, the bag would suffer more.
