The opening of Water World marks the start of Ocean Park’s revamp and gives impetus to development of the Southern District, said Ocean Park chairman Lau Ming-wai.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Ocean Park’s Water World on Monday, Lau said the year-round waterfront water park will be the first key project of the park’s revamp. The attraction will open to public tomorrow.
“The opening of Water World also signifies Ocean Park to play a more important role in the development of the Southern District,” said Lau.
“As Ocean Park march forward, bringing new experiences to citizens and tourists, it is expected that the Southern District will become more vibrant and unique, maximize its economic potential,” he added.
Water World will cap the number of visitors at 4,500 – half of the park's maximum capacity – because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Entry fees for the Water World for is set at at least HK$320 for adults and HK$225 for children during the initial opening period.
But after that, ticket prices will not be fixed, but will be determined by "seasonal factors" in the next 60 days as well as whether it's a weekend or weekday.
