The government has today invoked an ordinance to resume plots totaling around 300 square meters in Tseung Kwan O for the implementation of public housing developments in the area.
A total of two private lots with an area of about 189.3 square meters will be resumed and the land being occupied by five graves with an area of about 125.9 sq m will be acquired.
The plots took back under the Land Resumption Ordinance and the Land Acquisition Ordinance will be used for the implementation of public housing developments at west of Yau Yue Wan Village and east of Hong Kong Movie City in Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung.
“The said land will revert to or vest in the Government upon the expiry of a period of three months from the date of affixing the notices,” said a government spokesman.
“The Government will maintain close liaison with the relevant land owners and affected parties and properly handle their compensation matter.”
The public housing developments at west of Yau Yue Wan Village and east of Hong Kong Movie City in Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung, will provide a total of about 5,840 flats upon full completion. The first batch of population intake is expected in 2028-29.
