Maggie Poon Man-kay, Godfrey Lam Wan-ho and Anderson Chow Ka-ming have been appointed as Justices of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of the High Court, the judiciary announced today.

The judiciary added that the appointments are made by the Chief Executive on the recommendation of the Judiciary Officers Recommendation Commission.
Poon completed the Bar Finals Examination of the Inns of Court School of Law in London in 1986. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales and to the Bar in Hong Kong in 1986 and 1987 respectively.
She was in private practice between 1988 and 1994. Poon joined the Judiciary as Permanent Magistrate in 1994, and was appointed as District Judge in 1998 and Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court in 2009.
Lam, on the other hand, obtained a Master degree of Laws in Asian and Comparative Law from the University of Washington in the US in 1992 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong in 1993.
He was called to the Bar in Hong Kong in 1993 and was appointed as Senior Counsel in 2008. He was in private practice between 1994 and 2012. In 2013, he was appointed as Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court and President, Competition Tribunal.
For Chow, he obtained a Bachelor degree of Laws and a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong in 1986 and 1987 respectively. He was called to the Bar in Hong Kong in 1987 and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1995.
Chow was in private practice between 1988 and 2014. He was also appointed as Recorder of the Court of First Instance of the High Court from 2010 to 2014. In 2014 Chow was appointed as Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court.
