A histopathologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital has been tested preliminarily positive for the coronavirus, after a colleague from the same department was confirmed infected today.
The two doctors work at the same laboratory and have been commuting together after work.
They are not required to contact Covid patients or samples at work. The Centre for Health Protection said their source of infection remains unknown.
All 77 medical staff who work in the same department were tested with results came back to be negative.
