Police chief credits celebrities as inspirations

Police commissioner, Chris Tang Ping-keung, credited celebrities as inspirations for him being a police officer.

In a video circulating on the internet, Tang was speaking at a dinner party with Sun Hei soccer team and Hong Kong All Star soccer team, which is consisted of Hong Kong celebrities.

He thanked his police officers for their support and the two groups for playing soccer and having dinner with them, adding that he was very excited as his idols, including actor Jackie Chan, singer Alan Tam Wing-lun, and television host and actor, Eric Tsang Chi-wai, were also in attendance.

Tang said the reason why he was very good at speaking at District Council meetings was because of watching one of Tsang's television shows.

"Actually, I learned being a police officer from Jackie Chan and [actor] Fong Chung-sun. I didn't know how to be a police officer, but after watching you guys, I know how to be one," he said.
