Hong Kong shares closed sharply lower on Monday, weighed down by a broad sell-off in technology stocks.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell 347 points, or 1.34 percent, to 25,628, with turnover at HK$204.2 billion, down about 15.8 percent from a day earlier.
The China Enterprises Index dropped 1.78 percent to 8,917, while the Hang Seng Tech Index slid 2.48 percent to 5,498.
Only four stocks in the Hang Seng Tech Index ended higher, while 26 declined. Huahong Semiconductor (1347) was the worst performer, falling 6.4 percent to HK$67.3.
Mainland Chinese stocks also ended lower, with the Shanghai Composite Index down 0.55 percent at 3,867 and the Shenzhen Component Index falling 1.1 percent to 13,112.
