Set designers know all about dramatic lighting. So when Casa Cabana was designing its first lighting collection with The Invisible Collection, it looked to the works of late 20th-century Italian architect and set designer Renzo Mongiardino.

Mongiardino, who designed his childhood home in Milan, inspired three distinct designs made of brass and other metals: Cilindro, Renzo and Giacomo. The cylindrical shape of the Cilindro floor lamp blends in with all decor while the prototypes of the Giacomo wall lamp and Renzo standing light can be seen in one of Mongiardino's most famous projects, the Giacomo Restaurant in Milan.
"Good lighting is to decoration what good tailoring is to fashion: you can't go wrong, and yet it's so easy to go wrong," said Cabana founder and editor-in-chief Martina Mondadori. "Mongiardino had mastered the art of lighting by adapting his skills as a set designer to interiors, always trying to create an atmosphere, to add layering and drama. This is what we always look for in the interiors we publish on Cabana magazine and therefore it is a natural extension for our Casa Cabana brand."
Made to order in Italy, the collection is available exclusively on www.cabanamagazine.com and
www.theinvisiblecollection.com.
The Invisible Collection is an online marketplace for discovering beautiful designs. "We are honored to unveil Cabana's first lighting collection. Martina has an unmistakable eye for style and design and we are delighted to bring the three designs, which showcase exceptional Italian craftsmanship to The Invisible Collection," said founders Anna Zaoui and Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays.
