The highlight of Nuo by Cindy Yeung's high-jewelry collection this year is named after the accessory made popular in the 1920s. Usually seen as long-twisted pearl chains with tassels or a large pendant at the end, sautoirs were the perfect complement to the swingy flapper dresses.
Said Yeung, the chairwoman of Emperor Watch & Jewellery: "Today, exactly 100 years after the birth of sautoir, while women enjoy fresh images and social status, we stay true to our responsibilities and core values. In the same way, my Sautoir collection enhances tradition with new elements - such as the use of jadeite, diamonds and colored gemstones, as well as modern stone-setting techniques. The collection celebrates tradition but also the versatility, strength and gentleness of modern-day women."
Many of the Sautoir pieces have multipurpose designs, offering more flexibility in mixing and matching.
