Kids' playground becomes everyone's park

A growth spurt has seen a children's play area in Sham Shui Po Park increase its spread four times over and take on nature-themed areas and activities that are good for kids and adults.

Now occupying around 6,400 square meters, the inclusive playground has been given an amazing makeover by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department with sand, plants and water as main design elements to create three themed areas in the new spread: "Sandy Bunker," "Jungle Meadow" and "Oasis Spring." The titles say it all.

Climbing nets, percussion pipes and drums, trampolines, a carousel for wheelchair users and a fitness corner are also provided at the new-look playground, generating greater integration across generations for people with a range of physical abilities and interests.
