A bronze statue of a famous pig named McDull standing on the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui was vandalized overnight by graffiti scrawled on his belly with a sort of light blue marker.
McDull is a young pig, an unlikely hero created by Brian Tse and Alice Mak in their comic strips.
But the ambassador for Hong Kong's animation industry was defaced with a series of squiggles that could be initials, though the rude mess should be no problem to remove.
Police were called to the scene just after 9 am yesterday by security guards who came upon the vandalism.
That was followed by McDull going behind a barricade while cops looked over surveillance footage, though without any quick breakthrough in identifying a big bad wolf of a graffiti artist.
