A 25-year-old man reported a burglary at his office unit at Chung Mei Centre in Kwun Tong on early Sunday morning, with HK$8,000 worth of Pokémon trading cards stolen.
Police recieved report from the man at around 2.51am, stating that his unit had been ransacked. Officers confirmed that about three to four boxes of cards worth HK$8,000 were taken, while more than 10 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the scene had been sprayed with red paint.
The 1000-square-foot unit is located in a building that has been undergoing exterior wall repair since October last year and is fitted with scaffolding, with only one entrance to the unit.
While there are no signs of forced entry at the main door of the unit, the window grilles were pried open and removed. Investigators believed that the suspect entered the rear alley from Shing Yip Street, climbed up the scaffolding to the building platform, moved through the podium to the unit’s floor, and accessed the unit through the window.
Police have classified the case as burglary. Officers are now hunting for a suspect described as a 1.7-meter-tall male of medium build, wearing a mask, a yellow safety helmet, a black jacket and dark trousers.
