Hong Kong will brace for a warm Chinese New Year, with the highest temperature on the 28th of the lunar month (Feb 15) rising to 25 degrees, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.
The weather watchdog said a strong northeast monsoon will affect the coast of southern China tomorrow, with the lowest temperature hovering around 14 degrees.
The monsoon will moderate progressively, and temperatures will rise midweek next week, reaching between 18 and 24 degrees next Wednesday.
A fresh easterly airstream is expected to affect the coast of Guangdong in the latter part of next week, with temperatures continuing to rise.
The nine-day weather forecast shows that on Chinese New Year's Eve, the temperature is expected to range from 19 to 24 degrees.
On the first day of the New Year, the weather will also be generally cloudy with brief sunny periods during the day, and temperatures are anticipated to be between 19 and 23 degrees.
