Four people have fallen ill with food poisoning after eating raw oysters and salad at the French restaurant L'Amour in Central, health authorities said on Monday.
The Centre for Health Protection is investigating two epidemiologically linked clusters involving one man and three women aged 30 to 59. They developed diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting and fever about 25 to 38 hours after dining at the restaurant on D'Aguilar Street on January 27.
One person sought medical advice but no hospitalization was required. All are in stable condition.
A joint investigation by the CHP and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department examined the restaurant. The Centre for Food Safety's preliminary finding suggests the illness may have been caused by consuming raw food.
The restaurant has been instructed to suspend serving the implicated items and carry out cleaning and disinfection. Staff received food safety education. The investigation is ongoing.
