Eight retired racehorses retrained under the Club’s Retired Racehorse Retraining Programme (RESTART) will participate in a musical ride performance.

The Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show returns Friday at AsiaWorld-Expo, combining elite 5-star show jumping with family-friendly activities and celebrations for the Year of the Horse.

The three-day event, running January 30 to February 1, 2026, returns on a larger scale with world-class international riders and horses competing in top-level show jumping.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club, serving as strategic partner, is leveraging the event to promote equestrian sports throughout Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. The Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show is also the inaugural event in the Club’s Year of the Horse campaign, honouring the profound bond between horses and humans.
Highlights include the Hong Kong Jockey Club Asian Youth Challenge, inviting young Asian riders to showcase emerging talent; the return of the crowd-pleasing Shetland Pony Grand National with miniature ponies and junior jockeys racing a small track; and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Musical Ride featuring retired racehorses from the RESTART program.
Eight retired racehorses retrained under RESTART will participate in the performance, demonstrating their successful transition to second careers. Tracy Lung, the Club’s Retired Horse Welfare Manager, said the performance aims to enhance public understanding of the diverse development opportunities available to retired racehorses.

HKJC also provided comprehensive technical and logistical support, including horse transportation, stable management and veterinary services. Approximately 60 competing horses have been safely transported to Hong Kong from overseas and have arrived at the venue under the supervision of the Club’s professional teams.

A new addition is the Hong Kong Dog Agility display, supported by The Royal Kennel Club, bringing fast-paced canine performances to the arena for the first time.

Popular singer Ian Chan from MIRROR will headline the grand finale on February 1 evening and appear at the Hong Kong Jockey Club exhibition booth for fan meet opportunities.
Beyond competitions, the Lifestyle Shopping Village creates a full-day family experience with themed zones for Equestrian Suppliers, Fashion & Accessories, Wine & Gourmet, Interior & Design, and Lifestyle & Leisure.

Visitors can enjoy runway shows, interactive Kids Zone activities, and views of the Warm-Up Ring from the Champagne Taittinger Bar presented by Cathay Cargo.
The horse-themed event emphasizes vitality and independence, offering the public a chance to enjoy high-level equestrian sport alongside immersive entertainment and shopping.
