Two women were injured in a street attack in Sham Shui Po on Thursday morning (Jan 15), in what police believe may have been a random assault. Officers are actively pursuing a male suspect believed to be responsible.
Police received a report at around 9.18am that a person had been assaulted near the junction of Shek Kip Mei Street and Tai Po Road. At the scene, officers found two female victims.
A 30-year-old woman reported being struck on the head from behind; she was conscious with neck pain and was taken to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment. A 64-year-old woman sustained facial injuries and a bleeding wound to the back of her head; she was also conscious and was also taken to Caritas Medical Centre.
Police conducted a brief search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as a man aged between 20 and 30, standing 1.75 to 1.8 metres tall, wearing a red top and black trousers at the time of the incident.
The case has been classified as assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
