Police received a report around 10am that a toddler was found lying on a podium of Hanley Villa on Yau Lai Road, with a male relative seen beside him.
However, by the time police and paramedics arrived, neither the boy nor the relative was present.
Investigations revealed that the boy's father had rushed his son to Hong Kong Adventist Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the boy was pronounced dead at 11.41am.

According to reports, the deceased, surnamed Wong, was due to turn two next week, living at the estate with his parents and seven-year-old brother.
Reports indicate that the toddler had been playing in the living room with his brother around 10am, while their mother was in the room and their father rested in the bedroom.
The older brother then alerted their mother that the younger child had fallen, but he was found unresponsive after the father rushed downstairs.
Police arrested the parents on suspicion of child neglect, believing the boy accidentally fell from their fifth-floor unit through a living room window without frames.
