Scaffolding fire at Long Ping estate forces over 50 to evacuate

More than 50 residents evacuated after scaffolding on the exterior of a Yuen Long estate caught fire early Monday.

The blaze broke out around 4am on the scaffolding at Hay Ping House in Long Ping Estate. Firefighters quickly extinguished it. No one was injured.

The flat inside was unoccupied at the time. The cause is under investigation.
