A 28-year-old man has gone missing while hiking in Tai Tong, Yuen Long, prompting a search operation involving police, rescue teams and a government helicopter.
Police received a report from a 57-year-old woman at about 5pm on Sunday stating she had lost contact with her son during a hike. The mother and son had taken a bus to Tai Tong Shan Road earlier for a walk.
At around 4.41pm, while near Kat Hing Bridge in Tai Lam Country Park, the woman rested due to fatigue. Her son said he needed to leave briefly to relieve himself but did not return.
Rescue personnel were dispatched to search the area. The Government Flying Service also deployed a helicopter to assist. The man has not been found as of the latest update, and the search continues.
