Yan Chai Hospital announced on Friday that it has allocated HK$166 million for short-term relief and long-term rebuilding for Wang Fuk Court residents affected by the blaze.
Partnering with Octopus Cards Limited, the hospital launches custom cards for monthly living allowances.
About 1,700 households in blocks one to seven receive HK$2,000 monthly for 12 months, while 250 in block eight get HK$1,000 for six months, totaling HK$42.3 million.
Residents collect cards from January 21 via one social worker per household arrangements without reapplying or topping up at designated MTR stations, malls, or apps.
A new HK$45 million emergency round disburses from December 29 by transfer: blocks one to seven households get an extra HK$25,000, reaching HK$50,000 cumulative with prior aid; block eight receives HK$10,000 more, totaling HK$20,000.
Eligibility requires residency on the day of the fire.
